PETROGLYPHS

At a site called Signal Hill in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona is a collection of rock art attributed to native North American Indians. These petroglyphs were produced by scratching away the surface layers of exposed rocks, to produce lighter coloured markings that contrast with the darker colour of the natural rock surface caused by many years of oxidation.
