Mountain Nature Camp
Oglebay Institute’s Mountain
Nature Camp offers adults the opportunity to explore, discover
and share in the rich and unique Appalachian highland habitat.
Through class discussions, lectures and field study, each
camper will leave with a greater understanding and appreciation
of the natural world and the Appalachian region.

• Home cooked meals served "family style"
• Morning bird walks
• Nature study classes focused on Mammalogy, Botany, Macro– Invertebrates, Geology, Ornithology, and Herpetology
• Picnic lunches
• Trips to the regions state parks and natural areas including: Cranesville Swamp, Swallow Falls, Cathedral State Park, Dolly Sods, Black Water Falls State Park or Seneca Rocks
• Free time can include canoeing, fishing, walking, running, biking, or exploring local artisan markets
• Evening guest lectures on leading trends in nature interpretation
• Evenings conclude at the campfire circle under a ring of ancient white oaks
